Beach Safety

Conneaut Township Park's quarter mile long beach on the southern shore of Lake Erie is an unguarded/swim at own risk beach with no life saving personnel. In an ongoing effort towards water safety awareness, the park has taken steps to ensure that adequate information is provided to vistors regarding beach and water safety. It is recommended that visitors familiarize themselves with Lake Erie water conditions and hazards before entering the water.

Beach Location Posts

Conneaut Township Park has taken the initiative to section off and mark three specific areas of the beach as a part of our safety program to aid 911 callers and rescuers in case of an emergency. Our goal is to help prevent confusion during an emergency by giving areas of the beach identifiable markers to allow callers to quickly find and communicate the nearest marker location to emergency personnel. This will allow emergency personnel to respond in a more timely and efficient manner. We encourage all park patrons to familiarize yourself with the color/numbering and locations of these marked posts on the beach. Details below.

BEACH 1

RED POST #1 is located directly in front of the west beach parking lot and covers the beach area west of Kelsey's Run.

BEACH 2

WHITE POST #2 is located directly north of the Concession Stand/Lower Pavilion and covers the beach area just east of Kelsey's Run and extending east to mid-beach.

BEACH 3

BLUE POST #3 is located north of the east bluff boardwalk and covers an area from mid-beach east to the Port Authority.
